Seedream V5 Pro (edit) is the inpainting and image-editing variant of ByteDance's Seedream 5.0 Pro generation, released in July 2026. It pairs with the text-to-image Seedream V5 Pro generator, applying the same underlying model to targeted, instruction-driven changes rather than creating images from scratch. ByteDance describes Seedream 5.0 Pro as a multimodal image model featuring advanced reasoning, efficient content creation, and professional production capabilities, including text-rich images for education and specialized use.

Within the editing lineup, it succeeds ByteDance's earlier Seedream V4.5 editor and the lighter Seedream V5 Lite edit model. For the 4.x generation, ByteDance reported that Seedream 4.5 delivered improvements over Seedream 4.0 across prompt adherence, alignment, and aesthetics, along with stronger typography and dense-text rendering.
