Seedream V5 Lite is the editing variant of ByteDance Seed's Seedream 5.0 Lite, a lightweight, unified multimodal image model. According to ByteDance, the family adds deep-thinking reasoning and online-search capabilities, letting it reason through spatial relationships and professional conventions before generating or editing an image.

As an edit endpoint, it handles natural-language image editing, including inpainting and style transfer, consistent with its place in the Seedream lineup. It pairs with the text-to-image sibling Seedream V5 Lite, and follows the earlier editing model Seedream V4.5 within the family.

It also sits within the broader ByteDance Seed lineup alongside the Seedance 2.0 video models. On its internal MagicBench, ByteDance reports significant improvements across core dimensions including prompt following and alignment for the 5.0 Lite generation.
