Claude Opus 4.7 Fast is the speed-optimized configuration of Anthropic's Opus 4.7, a generally available model built for complex reasoning and agentic coding. It runs the same underlying Opus 4.7 model but is tuned for lower latency, making it suited to latency-sensitive workflows like live debugging and rapid iteration. It carries the full feature set, including a 1M-token context window and Anthropic's stated strengths in long-horizon agentic work.

Compared with its same-family predecessor Claude Opus 4.6 Fast, the 4.7 generation reflects Anthropic's reported gains in agentic work, knowledge tasks, vision, and deductive logic. Anthropic's Opus 4.7 announcement reports improvement on a finance evaluation, scoring 0.813 on its General Finance module versus 0.767 for Opus 4.6.

The standard Claude Opus 4.7 offers the same intelligence without the speed optimization. Anthropic has since released Claude Opus 4.8 and its fast variant Claude Opus 4.8 Fast, which Anthropic describes as targeting better long-context handling, fewer compactions, and more reliable tool triggering.
