$VVV reminds me of terra LUNA in some ways (mechanism, not outcome)
to be clear upfront: i'm not saying VVV is LUNA or headed anywhere near the same fate. I'm isolating one piece β the reflexive mint loop β and nothing else.
With terra, demand for UST forced users to buy and burn LUNA to mint it. A reflexive loop that destroyed luna supply and drove price.
Venice has a similar-feeling reflexivity on the surface: more demand for compute β more VVV staked β more diem minted β less liquid VVV.

In hindsight buying $VVV under $20 will look cheap

I wonβt be selling my $VVV anytime soon.
The product experience is improving every day, consensus around open source being the future is growing, revenues and token burns are steadily increasing month over month, emissions are essentially halving every three months, and team vesting falls off a cliff in January 2027.
At the end of the day, itβs all a matter of R:R.
Is the bottom in? Iβm not sure. But given the risk premium people are assigning to Venice because of the equity / βtrust-Erik-bro

circulating supply of $VVV is actually dropping (getting locked) as price rises.
Simply beautiful to watch great tokenomics in action.

Interesting validation of the $VVV model, but I don't see this as a threat. $DIEM itself becomes increasingly difficult to compete with as the ecosystem, distribution and capital behind it grow.
The potential B2B angle interests me more.
If NEAR + other DePIN compute networks increasingly let companies turn staked capital into recurring compute access, companies like Venice could eventually build a strategic compute treasury by holding/staking the assets of infrastructure providers they alread

Total $VVV staked is approaching all time highs. Smart money is accumulating.

Iβm down three places on the staked $VVV dashboard. This is very distressing for me.

One thing I hadnβt appreciated before relating to $VVV / $DIEM if we assume $DIEM lending markets flourish :
If DIEM rental market yield exceeds base VVV staking yield, it could potentially create another reflexive sink for VVV.
when $DIEM rental yield > $VVV staking yield, yield arbitrage quietly tightens $VVV float
AI demand drives $DIEM rental rates β staking $VVV to mint $DIEM becomes the better yield β more $VVV locked β circulating supply compresses
Itβs not a burn or a structural sink
